Golden boy

The peaceful provincial town of Tivoli is shaken by something that no one can explain Tommaso — 11 years old, well-bred child and model student of the private school — pees on his girlfriend’s face as a sexual practice. It takes just a few hours for the boy to become a stranger in his own home, a monster in the eyes of the community and a hero among his group of friends. That inexplicable act was actually the result of a bet and, now that he has won it, Tommaso just wants things to get back to normal. He wants to go back to school, to no longer feel the glance of others, to not hear his parents fight and blame each other for what happened. But Tommaso is no longer Tivoli's golden boy and the school's attempts to restore the peace soon prove to be a lie: people never really forget, especially when it's easier to point fingers at one person than recognizing that the blame is shared by everyone. Frustrated, Tommaso seeks shelter in Denise, a young idealistic teacher, who sees him as a scapegoat, but ends up using him for her personal fight against the school system. The witch hunt begins again and Tommaso has to make a choice that will determine who he will become: will he accept being the victim or will he bear his guilt alone in order to continue to belong to the pack?
